An accomplished interventional cardiologist
Dr. Somyata Somendra Sharma is an accomplished interventional cardiologist with extensive clinical experience in complex coronary and structural heart disease interventions, as well as Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIED) including pacemakers, ICDs, and CRT devices.
She holds an MBBS degree from S.M.S. Medical College, Jaipur, where she received 9 Gold Medals and achieved distinction in 10 core courses. She subsequently pursued DM Cardiology from PGIMER, Chandigarh, securing All India Rank 1 in the PGIMER DM/MCh Entrance Examination (2021) and Rank 1 in the DM Cardiology Exit Exam (2024).
She also holds the MRCP (UK) degree from the Royal Colleges of Physicians, with first-attempt success in all parts of the examination. Since 2023, she has been an elected member of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of London, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Keen on staying abreast of the latest technological breakthroughs, she has actively participated in international workshops and conferences. She completed a clinical observership at the National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS) in 2025 and is APSC TCIP certified in coronary imaging and physiology from Hong Kong.
Passionate about research, she has been actively involved in several academic projects with publications in reputable journals including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC), the Journal of Invasive Cardiology, and the Indian Heart Journal. She has presented cases and been invited as faculty at major international conferences including EuroPCR Paris (2025) and Singapore LIVE (2024 and 2025).
